Hello!

It's not the end of the month, but I've so much boat stoof to do that I'm splitting the what would be a monthly novella into something sensible.

The week before last I cleaned most of the engine bay — emptied the drip tray, swept up all debris, and removed the old wires. Then I did a Minimum Viable Rewiring with a new ignition switch, but unfortunately all of the hot wiring screwed the starter solenoid terminals so I'm back to using a wire.

I also changed the oil and replaced the filter, and it looked so much tidier!

The main reason for this is because yesterday I took the boat to the dry dock (thank you, Dad!) to have a new deck and weed hatch installed, along with the engine bay and hull sandblasted.

It was a picturesque cruise, and the first time I've swum alongside the boat which was fun:

And the dock was full of algae!

And then today, I finally replaced the shower bar so I could use it again (and it is still feels like elite spatial harmony):

And then pressure-washed the roof. Somehow I fucked up that painting 2 years ago and it just flakes off:

I've asked the sandblaster to give it a quick squiz if there's time (hull & engine bay take priority), otherwise I'll sand it back manually, by hand, like a muppet.

By my estimate there's about 450m² of surface area to paint in the next 9 days, including re-coats... 😬

Until a Sunday, soon (probably the next one)!
