Hello! And happy Sunday; I am once again writing these weekly until the boat is done. The contract isn't yet signed, but I have a mooring in central London from October 1st (I'll consider it final when I've put down the deposit), and there's a) work to do and b) a voyage to make.
And it's only a small list...
Some of them I might defer, e.g. the clean and paint engine, that could wait.
Anyway this week I was hardly at the boat, but I ordered 2m² of wood for the final cladding at the back and put in the channels for the shower screen:
For that I used Sikaflex 552, the hella-strong structural one. It's not as flexible as e.g. the 221, but should hold if I lean on it... I put some screws in the ceiling channel, but the side and bottom ones are on the tile edges and that's a nope. I'll go around with some anti-mould sealant when it's all in as well.
And this evening, a test fit!
I got back to the boat a few hours ago, and I'm here all week to crack on with as much as possible, mainly the engine bay and gas lockers. Tomorrow I'll take the boat outside of the marine to make a noisy mess again, and I am steeling myself for the grim task of de-scaling and de-rusting the engine bay, but I am so excited for some fresh paint in there.
