Magnets and membranes, Penrose and pizza

Hello! Happy Sunday.

The expectations were indeed grout, but I did more tiling this week. Continuing the bathroom walls, and then on Thursday the concrete floor tiles arrived, all 170kg of them.

Before starting on those, I stuck down a waterproof membrane and ordered some pizza.

Also I fit the cupboard door (tiles are a’ coming) and magnets were ideal; it‘ll be like a not-so-secret doorway.

And then the floor tiles… I was resigned to finding some I liked and having them water-cut to shape, but I found a mathematician who’d done what I wanted — a never-repeating Penrose tiling — so I called the company and they had tiles to spare:

I’m almost done, but I’m also about to run out of adhesive…

Until next Sunday!
