Scaling down

Hello!

On Tuesday I did the final coat of varnish for the bathroom ceiling, followed by web surfing. It turns out people just cut veneer doors to size, then re-glue them, and... sure why not? I will do that too; it sounds messy but I'll make it work — most normal doors are 1981mm tall, and I need to slice off 120mm. I ordered 2 then collected one on Friday, spending so much less than solid oak doors.

While on a roll I also ordered wedi building boards for the bathroom tiling, the finest in German engineering — more flexible than plasterboard, and also waterproof with better insulation.

And I spent a few more hours with the chisel, deepening the hole for the shower sump pump, and digging a channel for one of the drains. I wanted to get that messy work done before assembling anything, as the concrete and dust goes everywhere.

Then on Thursday I stopped by the pottery to christen their 3D printer with "Benchy," a model of a boat for putting these printers through their paces:

Floor tile production is a next year thing, and I'll try to squeeze in a little boating over the next 2 weeks, but emphasis on a little.

Happy holidays, and Merry Christmas to all. :)

Until next Sunday!
