Tidy wiring, happy plumbing
Hello! Happy Sunday.
This week I finished the bathroom electrics, and... I went overboard:
48V coming in (because thinner wire for a smaller voltage drop across longer distances, the same principal behind our national grid), then dropping to 12V and distributing to the 4 components via relays — electronic switches triggered by those thin, coloured cables, so I can control them from the stern. More points of failure, but more idiot-proof for future me: 1 control panel at the back with everything, instead of an extra one hidden away in the bathroom. And it works!
In its final form I re-pressurised the system, and NO LEAKS. Delightful, a relief. And in the spirit of perpetual motion, I connected the shower outlet directly to the drain so I could empty the water tank:
Because a few rust spots were developing...
I'll fix those next week, before sealing the tank forever. After that I built the cupboard to house those electronics:
Satisfyingly sturdy, and it'll make a nice shelf! I also angled it slightly so water runs off.
And then I continued with some of the tiling boards:
The underfloor heating also arrived this week (you can see the stack of 58 insulation boards in the first picture above), which I'll need before finishing the bathroom walls to the floor, and I'm slowly running out of workshop space...
Until next Sunday!
