If I were a sparky

Hello, and happy April!

Sometimes I think about what I’d do for work if everything went to shit with a demon cursing all computers and their programmers. Electrician is up there, and carpenter maybe. But tiler? Fuck no.

Anyway the final wall tiles arrived on Saturday, and I felt so relieved to be done with them:

I also started siliconing some of the edges, and preparing the light fittings:

The white felt a little off, so I switched to black for the rest (with the added benefit of obscuring any wrinkles). And then today — lighting!

It was delightful to do something precise and clean for once:

There’s a dimmer on this side with another in the bedroom (cabin?), and it’s finicky switching on so I’ll need to adjust the programming.

And as of 22:30 tonight I finished the grouting:

The concrete absorbs water from the grout which is kinda cool:

Which also means waiting for it to dry, and the floor needs a deep, deep, deep clean before I can seal it as well.

With the grout cleaned and the lights fitted, it brought me so much joy to look at this:

Quite shape-y, there’s a lot happening. It was dark out and this was the only light; it feels lovely and soft, and the temperature is perfect — 3000K — which I’ll use for the rest of the boat. 🤩

Until next Sunday!
