Learn by doing
Hallo, happy Sunday!
So the boat's been a mess for a while, but on Tuesday I had a big cleaning sesh with a helpful hand from mum — thank you! — and it is looking so much better. I forgot to take photos, but there is so much room for activities! And I'll need it — I ordered the rest of the wooden cladding this week, and all 585 meters of it arrive tomorrow.
I also installed the bathroom extractor fan, which doesn't fit so I had to trim an edge:

And installed the sink and tap:

And then... the shower arrived, and I went to install it but I did the pipework wrong. It's meant to be a female thread, but I just have the pipe extending outwards:

Truly one of those learn-by-doing moments, but instead of feeling a sense of awe at my newfound wisdom, I sighed and felt a sense of "you utter moron." It shouldn't be much work to redo it with access from the bedroom side by taking out a few panels, which I'll do next week.
And then the doors! With the extra space I had somewhere to put them, so I trimmed them down, cut holes for the locks and started oiling them:

I had to cut off about 120mm, and on the first door I tried to re-veneer the bottom but ehh, messy, so on the second one I've just oiled it, and I'll butter a layer of silicone to fully seal it:

Until next Sunday!
