Panels and paddles
Hello, and happy July :)
I remember boldly proclaiming that I probably wouldn't hit 100 posts, but here we are at 96 and the kitchen lead time is at least 4 weeks. Onwards!
Monday was possibly the year's peak for solar energy (so far), and I got 3kWh. The battery started on 70% at midnight, reached a low of 57% when it started ingesting photons at 0500, then ended the day at 90%. Solar + batteries is a great combo — I'm so sold on decentralised electricity — and I do simply need more panels.
For about 30 seconds I considered a windmill, did a quick search and concluded 1) I'd need a big-ish one, and 2) they're so damn ugly. Who on earth green-lit them for the oceans?
Anyway, it's been a low-agency boat work week. Lots of paddle boarding, swimming, coding in cafés and some light-hearted fucking around, but on Saturday morning I finally put up the tile backing boards for the hearth:

They're the James Hardie ones, heavy as hell and fire + water resistant; ideal for tiles behind a stove. The tiles will be another oddly-shaped fiasco, but first up is finish the panelling, then varnish, lights and a floor...
Until next Sunday!
