Pipes, boards and a gift from Yorkshire

Hello, and happy September!

T'is getting cold... about that wood burner, but first I have a kitchen to fit. And thank god it didn't arrive on Monday, although something about work expanding to fit the time available for its completion — it arrived today, and I only finished the flooring yesterday. It was the now-established rigamarole: clear the area, fit the insulation boards, tape them up, lay the pipe, unroll the underlay.

Et voila!

I'll finish the smidge at the back when I can get rid of the temporary fridge (the new appliances arrive on Tuesday). I also re-sealed the near kitchen window, and removed the blown one:

I can't be having leaks over the new worktop, and I'll fit the new window in some sunshine next week. It's at this point you realise all the things you haven't done, like insulating the pipes that run along the boat, or extending the water pipes, or fitting the gas system.

And I only ordered the cooker hood today, and haven't figured out the tiles for the splash back yet. It'll be a minute before I can cook an omelette...

But all that said, I have the parts for a kitchen! :D

And they included a cute gift from Yorkshire:

Until next Sunday!
