Bilges and breakfast bars

Hello! Happy Sunday :)

I'm currently regretting not writing this as I went this week, it's time for bed. But! On Monday I went to help dad tape up part of his boat for insulating, and before leaving I finally re-filled the greaser for the stern tube:

The propshaft has been dripping for a while, and I put off getting the grease out and stuffing it down, but at least the bilge pump works!

On Tuesday the appliances arrived — oven, fridge, washing machine — and I finished sealing the new kitchen window. Which still leaks... some tiny gap, that I'll try to plug, but I need a more permanent seal around the edges.

The oven came ready for mains gas at 20mbar, but with an LPG conversion nozzle so I fit that next. It's a little brass bolt with a slightly smaller hole to work with the higher propane pressure (37mbar):

I then fit the cabinets to the starboard side, bolting them to the hull:

At this point I was forced to reconcile with younger Nick's lack of foresight — I hadn't insulated the hot water pipes running along the port side (2 for the heating, 1 for mains water). So I bought 50m, wrangled the pipes and squeezed them in (and ran wires for the kitchen appliances as well):

Next up, securing the port-side cabinets to the hull, and I spent a long ol' while getting the L-shape right and the fridge correctly positioned:

And this evening, I cut the first chunk of worktop for the breakfast bar:

It's been raining all day so I've cut everything inside, and even with the hoover going there is dust everywhere.

In other news, George irreparably failed his MOT so I am car/van-less until I find something else. The mechanic kinda laughed, saying "I think it's time for a new van."

Until next Sunday!
