Smoke signals

Hello! Happy Sunday :)

The chimney had been leaking, a smoky gunge running down inside, from the silicone seal up above. I put it off because that meant letting it cure for a day, i.e. no heating. But I spent Wednesday away so I could reseal it, and since then it's thankfully been clear. Although it did strip away some of the paint, so I'll need to redo that...

And that was it for boat work — I came down with a fever, went to London on Saturday, and I got back this afternoon. On Thursday evening I could not stop shivering, and felt completely vindicated by the fancy bedding I bought to keep me warm and heal me with the scent of Scottish sheep.

I'm going to focus on work for the next few months and not torment myself for it, but there are some boat things I want to do before 2026:

  • Fit the oven, requiring a gas system
  • Fix the starboard kitchen worktop
  • Tidy up and get rid of the old fridge

Until next Sunday!
