The darling buds of May

Hello! Happy Sunday :)

It's been a GORGEOUS weekend and buoy have I done a little bit of boat work (it had to fit around the ringing, and hot air ballooning).

It was the Midlands Air Festival, and on Friday I was fortunate to have one of my favourite flights so far. We took off from Ragley Hall and headed east, flying over Stratford and ALMOST landing in the marina, missing it by only a few hundred metres:

And it's been a great month for ringing — I did my first quarter peal, followed by 4 more, and was gifted the cutest thing for my birthday: a lil service bell from Whitechapel.

Anyway, boats! Remember the wardrobe doors? I couldn't de-warp them, eurgh, so I gave up and ordered pine-veneered MDF, and they look great!

They arrived last week and I varnished + painted them this weekend, and I'll install them tomorrow and mount the mirror. Also today I cleaned the gunwale and did another coat of paint with the nice weather. Another with anti-slip grit, and then I can prance along it without fearing for my life.

I also booked the dry dock for late August, to sandblast the hull and engine bay, install a new weed hatch and deck, and hopefully re-paint the roof...

Until next month!
